There are many ways to build an automated tree farm. All of them include a Contraption moving a Mechanical Saw which harvests the whole tree at once and a Deployer which plants new saplings.

In this tutorial I'll go over the method I use to farm trees in the Create mod. This design is perfect for early or late game players and super easy to build.
