At a time when local schools are facing shrinking enrollment and talks of closure, Hawaiian immersion programs are bucking the trend.

Ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise, the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has selected about 60 Hajj Induction Course teachers across the state to conduct weekly induction classes for intending pilgrims.

These academies have gained popularity in recent months as a way to address early childhood educator shortages.
